Summer memories…..
It was only two months ago that we were in Patmos and like everyone we also tend to pick up a routine while on holidays. Even if the holiday period lasts for 2 -3 days we always tend to repeat a few things just to feel more at home with the place. The sweet morning routine is what I miss the most along with other things during our stay at the island.
Morning Strolls in Skala
Skala which is the island’s port is one of the most popular villages of Patmos. It has a number of cafeterias, restaurants and lots of shops so every morning we would easily spend some time checking the shops and cafes and of course the people that would hang out there.
In a few words, our mornings would consist of lazy strolls in the village of Skala, taking lots of photos of the surroundings, churches, shops cafe, following on from the must-have outfit photos that Antonis took without saying no!

Checking out the local shops
My love for fashion and for local designers would always make us stop by the local shops to check out all the new summer collections and see all the fashion and style that the island has to offer.
Many would think that smaller islands such as Patmos would not have a big collecti0n of shops and fashion, however, a visit to Skala would prove you wrong as the island is full of stylish boutiques with an amazing taste when it comes to accessories, clothes, shoes and of course swimwear.

Every morning stroll should end up to a cafe
The lazy strolls would find us to a different cafe every time having some coffee and tasting the local treats like the Patmos cheese pie, which is very different from a traditional Greek cheese pie.
One of the cafes that stood out for us was Houston cafe. I absolutely loved the colours and the interior design reminded you of how a cafe would be back in the 50’s but with some vital modern touches. The story has that this cafe was owned an old lady with a strong personality that you would never miss. After she died her family decided to keep running the cafe as it had been there since the early years.
Patmos is one of my favourite islands and every day spent there made me feel even happier and relaxed. I can’t wait to write all about this beautiful island on my travel guide next month.
