Gold Velvet – A Christmas festive look from Day to Night

I am sure it is not just me, but I believe that we all love dressing up during Christmas time.

In my case, this doesn’t mean that I always have somewhere to go to, but during these days I always find a reason to dress up even if it is to meet up with my friends for coffee and then go shopping.  Lately, I have been exploring different ways to look more festive and dressy during daytime as I find out that I much prefer going out during the day rather than night time. I am always on the lookout for versatile pieces that are dressy but also keep the casual element that I like.

Velvet is the perfect material that can achieve this. It is so classy and so versatile and can be worn from day to night with no questioning.

Although we only saw, velvet making a come back last season, this AW is even stronger and I am pretty sure that we are going to see it more often even next year. As I am a huge fan of yellow and gold, it used to be my favourite colour as a child, I chose this top by Pretty Little Thing to wear during my Christmas holidays in Greece. As it is a cropped top and in winter time no one wants to be showing skin as it is cold, a high-waisted pair of trousers is always a good solution and especially now that this style is in fashion.

For this shoot, I paired it up with over the knee boots which give the impression that trousers and boots are one piece.

Even if the shoot took place a few weeks back while I was in Dublin I think this look is so easy to wear from daytime until evening time and I have already worn it while in Greece. To shoot this look we picked the most Irish location of all which is, of course, the Guinness factory. The drinks colours and the outfit’s details complimented the shoot and I hope you like the end result.
